Allocation famille is Retraite Québec's tax-free payment for families with children under 18. The amount depends on family income and is higher for single parents.
How muchFor 2026, per child per year: maximum $3,068 and minimum $1,221; single-parent supplement $430 to $1,077. Also a $127 school-supplies supplement, a $2,892 handicapped-child supplement, and a supplement for exceptional care needs.

Who qualifies
- You care for a child under 18 who lives with you
- You live in Québec
- You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected person, or temporary resident in Canada at least 18 months
- You and your spouse file Québec tax returns every year

- Otherwise apply online with Retraite Québec
- File Québec tax returns every year (both spouses)
