RAP gives monthly rent help to low-income working families in B.C. renting in the private market. BC Housing administers it.
How muchCalculated from rent and income, with rent ceilings of $1,950 (3 or fewer) and $2,200 (4 or more) as of April 2025.

Who qualifies
- Household income $60,000 or less before tax
- At least one dependent child
- Lived in B.C. 12 months and meet status rules
- Spend more than 30% of income on rent
- Assets under $100,000; not on income or disability assistance; not in subsidized housing
How to apply
- Get the RAP application from BC Housing
- Provide proof of income (tax return or CRA consent)
- Include rent, residency, bank and asset documents
- Submit by upload, mail, fax or in person
- Reapply annually
