The work premium is a refundable Québec tax credit that rewards low- and moderate-income workers. There is an adapted version for people with a severely limited capacity for employment, and part can be paid in advance.
How much2026 maximums: single $1,207.33; couple without children $1,882.45; single parent $3,122.40; couple with children $4,057.00. Adapted premium maximums are higher.
When it's paidClaimed on the annual return; optionally advance payments by the 15th of each month (up to 50% or 75% of the estimated premium).
Who qualifies
- You lived in Québec on December 31
- You have work income
- Your family income is within the program limits
- You are not a full-time student (with some exceptions)
How to apply
- Complete Schedule P with your Québec return
- Optionally apply for advance payments with form TPZ-1029.8.P-V by December 1 to get 12 payments
- Report income changes during the year if receiving advances
